Javapolis wrap-up
I’ve just come back from Antwerpen, so it’s time for a brief wrap-up, since I’ve had no time to blog during the week.
The conference was, as usual, excellent, with an impressive roster of speakers and the usual good organization; however, differently from the previous years (it’s my third time at javapolis since 2004), I’ve spent a lot of time in (people!) networking, and attended less sessions.
In fact Javapolis has been also a great opportunity to meet the community of the Java Champions and of Jug Leaders, exchange ideas and also talk with Sun’s manager about the future of the communities and of the Java technology. Drinking a lot of beers and eating enormous amounts of mussels were obviously part of the discussions!
So kudos to the BeJug for the organization, to Sun for the special attention paid to the communities (and for the refreshments, by the way ….), and a big thank you to all the people I knew in Antwerpen.
See you next December for Javapolis 2007!
